THURSDAY, AUGUST 9:

All Percussion members are to report to the WVU Creative Arts Center on the Evansdale campus at 12:00 noon for camp. Instrument/equipment assignments and rehearsals will begin that afternoon. Rehearsals will continue all day Friday and Saturday as well as on Sunday in the late morning and early afternoon. These three days will serve as a “precamp” before the official start of camp on Sunday.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 10:

All Colorguard members are to report to the WVU Creative Arts Center on the Evansdale campus at 6:00 p.m. for camp. Equipment assignments and rehearsals will begin that evening. Rehearsals will continue all day Saturday as well as on Sunday in the late morning and early afternoon. These two and a half days will serve as a “precamp” before the official start of camp on Sunday.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 11:

All Section Leaders, Rank Leaders, Assistant Section Leaders, and Assistant Rank Leaders need to report at 10:00 a.m. to 200B of the Creative Arts Center for the annual “Leaders Mini-Camp.” Activities for the day will include chart reading, goal setting, and informative ways for you to become an effective “teacher.” Your position in the band is very important, so please bring any ideas or suggestions you may have for improving the group. Please clear your calendar for this day - ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. You will be receiving a letter concerning this “mini-camp” in the upcoming weeks.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 12:

ALL OTHER MEMBERS of the 2007 WVU Band must report to the WVU Creative Arts Center on the Evansdale campus between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. for registration. It will be during registration that university owned instruments will be distributed. At 2:30 p.m., there will be a general meeting for all students and interested parents at the Creative Arts Center. THIS MEETING IS MANDATORY!! Note: It is VERY important to arrive early enough to register before the 2:30 p.m. meeting!!

*EARLY MOVE-IN TO RESIDENCE HALLS* If you are living in a University Residence Hall this year and you would like to move in early for the week of band camp, please review the YELLOW FORM for details about how to move into the dorms on Sunday of Band Camp. . * PLEASE NOTE - MOVE-IN TIME WILL BE ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 12TH FROM 4:00 P.M. TO 6:30 P.M. ONLY! (Please see information regarding Residence Hall Early Move-in later in this newsletter!) Full-band rehearsals will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the WVU Band practice field at the Coliseum.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 17:

We will not rehearse from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. this day. This time has been set aside for anyone who needs to take care of necessary university business (registration, financial matters, moving, buying books, etc.)

SATURDAY, AUGUST 18:

Band Camp 2007 will conclude at 12:00 noon.

• Please understand that Band Camp is an all-day / all-week camp. In the mornings, we will start at 8:30 a.m.; we conclude each night at approx. 10:00 p.m. You will be given time off for meals. You need to plan accordingly. An exact schedule for the week will be distributed at camp registration.
