This summer the WVU Foundation through its University Fund coordinated a campaign
to raise $270,000 to replace the Band’s 11-year old uniforms.
As a result of the generosity of more than 1,800 donors, the WVU Foundation received
over $440,000 for 'The Pride.'
A check was presented during halftime of
the WVU vs. Syracuse football game to the Dean of the College of Creative Arts, Bernie Schultz and
the Marching Band Drum Majors Joe Andria and Lauren Eakins by the Foundation’s Director
of The University Fund, Greg McCracken and Associate Director, Sarah Gibson.
As a result of your overwhelming support, the band was able to purchase the new
uniforms you see today and 28 new tubas. Saturday, October 14 'The Pride' dedicated its new uniforms and extended a special thanks to you, our
alumni and friends who supported this effort.
The WVU Foundation and the WVU Marching Band also extend thanks to
our Band Aid Drive sponsors.
