One of the highlights of the WVU men’s and women’s basketball seasons is the Basketball Pep Band, an ensemble which generates excitement and enthusiasm wherever they perform. Home basketball contests are played at the magnificent WVU Coliseum, which is recognized as one of the finest collegiate sports arenas in the nation. Music performed by the ensemble consists of jazz, pop, and rock hits, as well as the traditional WVU fight songs. Over the past ten years the group has traveled to games in New York City, NY; Detroit, MI; Atlanta, GA; Albuquerque, NM; Anaheim, CA; Boise, ID; Hartford, CT; Cleveland, OH; Philadelphia, PA; and Raleigh, NC.

This band is open to any student attending the University who is interested in becoming a vital part of the excitement that truly is WVU Basketball. Membership for this ensemble is through audition. Even though the band performs from late fall until March, it is considered a second semester class.
