On behalf of the Omicron Chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi, I would like to welcome all of the new and returning members to the 2011 season of The Pride of West Virginia! We’ve been hard at work organizing this year’s Band Camp Picnic and Spirit Days. I’m very excited for the coming season and I hope you are too.
Spirit Days are a great way for everyone to get to know each other within and outside the sections and ranks. They also make camp more exciting and fun! We encourage everyone to participate, although it is not required. It’s a fun and enjoyable experience, and also serves as a good icebreaker. The people who show the most “spirit” for that specific day will get a prize. The themes for each day are as follows:
Please remember that band camp is in August, so it will more than likely be hot, humid and the field has no shade, so sunscreen and covering up is a must. A rule we usually abide by is “if you can’t march in it, you can’t wear it.”
Kappa Kappa Psi hosts an annual Band picnic on Monday, August 15th during camp week. Socializing between friends and getting to know the new members off of the field is the real purpose behind the picnic. We will be serving Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and for those of you who are vegetarians, Veggie Burgers. The theme of the picnic falls under the spirit idea of the day, your favorite Holiday.
